Grace

Grace is the unmerited favor and kindness of God — His freely given love and mercy toward undeserving sinners. It is not earned by works or human effort but given as a gift through Jesus Christ. Grace is God’s initiative to save, forgive, and transform us, enabling us to live in relationship with Him. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God — not of works, lest anyone should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8–9.

Grace means that though we were guilty and separated from God by sin, He reached out to us in love. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8. It is by grace that we are forgiven, saved, and sustained. Grace teaches us to turn away from sin and live in holiness. “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.” — Titus 2:11–12.

Grace is not a license to sin, but the power to live a new life in Christ. “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9. Grace is God’s undeserved love in action — saving, forgiving, restoring, and empowering us through Jesus Christ.
