The fear of the Lord is reverent awe that leads to joy, blessing, and holiness. “Blessed is the one who fears the Lord, who delights in His commandments” (Psalms 112:1). Those who fear Him lack nothing (Psalm 34:9) and find strong confidence and refuge (Proverbs 14:26). The early church grew as it walked in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Spirit (Acts 9:31), and the Messiah Himself delighted in this fear (Isaiah 11:3).
As we pray, we seek this holy fear that produces joy, security, and a life pleasing to God.
