Good News!

The Good News is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As the sinless and innocent Lamb. He took our place by carrying our sins to the cross. Through His sacrifice, death was defeated and the full price for sin was paid. His blood was shed as the ultimate offering, opening the way to forgiveness and restoring our broken relationship with God the Father. Jesus Himself is the Good News, and receiving Him changes hearts and renews the way we think.

Our Problem: Sin

  • By nature, humans choose their own way and disobey God.
  • The Bible calls this sin, which includes wrong behavior toward God and toward others.
  • Sin separates humanity from a holy and righteous God who cannot tolerate sin.

Key Scriptures:

  • Isaiah 53:6 – “All we like sheep have gone astray…”
  • Romans 3:10 – “None is righteous, no, not one.”
  • Isaiah 59:2 – “Your sins have separated you from your God.”
  • Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Problem:

  • We cannot close this gap between us and God by our own efforts or good deeds.

2. God’s Solution: Jesus Christ, the Word of God

  • Jesus is the Word of God – the Beginning and the End, the Son of God who existed before time. John 1:1-3
  • He came as a man, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully human, to live among us. Luke 1:31-35
  • He experienced life as we do – He was tempted, belittled, rejected, and suffered the full range of human experience. Hebrews 4:15
  • Out of love, God’s Son carried our punishment and paid the price for our sins through His death on the cross. Romans 5:8
  • On the third day, He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death and offering eternal life to all who believe. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3. Our Response: Faith in Jesus

  • We receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Salvation is not earned by our efforts but is a gift of God’s grace.
  • Faith means trusting Jesus as our Savior and Lord, turning from sin, and following Him.
